Enchant your dinner party guests with a Michelin-calibre meal this festive season. This exceptional masterclass, hosted by Gordon Ramsay Restaurant Pétrus on 3 and 10 December, gives a fascinating insight into the workings of a top-flight kitchen and the tricks and techniques you can deploy when entertaining at home.
Under the personal tutelage of Head Chef Larry Jayasekara, you’ll learn how to procure and prepare stunning hand-dived Orkney scallops and cook an exquisite Venison Wellington, before enjoying a luxurious 3-course lunch with wine pairings.
The day starts at 9am with a delicious welcome breakfast while the team explains how the kitchen operates and all about the prime seasonal ingredients you’ll be using. Then it’s time to don aprons and get to grips with all the finer points of producing a Michelin-style meal. There will be careful tuition in opening and cooking beautiful scallops, and you’ll learn how to wrap the ultimate present as you prepare a Venison Wellington from start to finish.
Once the hands-on work is complete, there is a tour of the famous Pétrus wine cellar, followed by Champagne, canapés and a sumptuous three-course lunch of restaurant signature dishes including Orkney scallops, Venison Wellington with exquisite Alba truffle, and the famous Black Forest dessert. As you would expect, each dish is magnificently paired with fascinating wines from the cellar. To round off your experience, you’ll enjoy tea and coffee served with festive petits fours.
