Roberta Zalikaite

General Manager

London House’s General Manger, Roberta, was born in Lithuania, but moved to Ireland as a small child. After leaving high school high school she got a summer job at Disneyland Paris which was her first exposure to working in hospitality. Roberta worked in the food and beverage sector at the theme park, doing everything from waiting tables, serving ice cream, and making hotdogs.  

Roberta then went on to study hospitality management in one of the world’s leading hospitality universities in Shannon, Ireland. Her second year was an exciting one, as she moved to Belgium to work as an intern chef for a year, studying French cooking. She also had the chance to experience working in the restaurant’s front of house and the bar, hotel reception, and housekeeping. She says ‘this is where I fell in love with the food and beverage sector above all else’.

In 2015, Roberta made the move to London where she started her managerial career in 108 Brasserie whilst still studying. She says ‘I spent my managerial time here starting off as waitress on a final year placement. After my graduation in 2016, I decided to stay on at 108, where I was given such roles as restaurant supervisor and restaurant manager’.

Roberta is passionate about hospitality. ‘To me, hospitality is not only about the service, as anyone can deliver great standards. Hospitality is about how you make your guests feel while they are visiting your restaurant and using your products, it's about creating memorable experiences and creating deep customer connections’.

Executive Head Chef

Robert gleaned his cooking skills in a range of venues from award-winning spas and resorts to private members clubs and country hotels. Fluent in three languages, Robert kicked off his career by training in the oldest French restaurant in London, L’Escargot, in 1992. He then developed his talent across a host of renowned restaurants in London, including Soho House and now closed Michelin-starred Les Saveurs by Marco Pierre White.

In 1998, Robert returned to his home country of Poland where he headed up the restaurants in luxury hotels such as the Haffner Hotel and Mazurkas Hotel. Robert also led the brigades at two restaurants of reputable Polish restaurateur Magda Gessler during their openings.

Being drawn back to the allure of London in 2011, Robert returned as head chef of the Northall restaurant at the 5 star Corinthia hotel, leading the team for 5 years and collecting an impressive list of accolades from TripAdvisor, Conde Nast and The Sunday Times.

Robert joined Gordon Ramsay’s Heddon Street Kitchen as Head Chef in July 2017 and then lead the brigade of 19 chefs as Executive Head Chef at Bread Street Kitchen before making the move to oversee both London House and York & Albany. Robert brings with him a wealth experience in British produce, global cuisine and bespoke dining experiences in luxury hotels and private members clubs.

Stefano Tortelli

Head Chef

Stefano, our Head Chef, is from Rome and started to cook with his Grandmother when he was a child. ‘My grandmother used to make fresh homemade pasta and always I loved helping her spread the dough and cut the tagliatelle. I grew up watching culinary tv shows and cooking for my family and friends.’

When he was 13 years old, Stefano started to study his other second passion, flight. ‘I studied for 5 years in an Aeronautical Institute as a Pilot and air traffic controller, but I later decided to change to a different professional life’. By 2015, his love of food and the hospitality industry had taken over and he bought a one way ticket to London where Stefano worked at Byron Burger in Camden and then at the Sky Garden as Chef de Partie. In 2018, he worked as a senior sous chef at Soho House, and joined Gordon Ramsay Restaurants later that year. After ten months as sous chef, Stefano’s passion and hard work was rewarded and he was promoted to Head Chef at London House. He says that ‘This is the dream realized. From 2008 I have followed Gordon Ramsay on TV and always thought that one day I would work for him as Head Chef in one of his Restaurants’.

Outside of work, Stefano loves to improve his culinary skills and knowledge by travelling around the world to discover new foods, cultures, and recipes. ‘Traveling is my passion but when I have free time, I love to go paragliding, scuba diving and motorbiking.’
