Celebrate #BeefWellingtonDay with Gordon Ramsay

Ready to get your feast on? The weekend of June 18 is when Gordon Ramsay Restaurants worldwide are celebrating #BeefWellingtonDay with a host of luxurious specials and the launch of a new series of masterclasses.

Now a major event in our kitchens’ calendars, June 18 marks the end of the historic Battle of Waterloo, where the Duke of Wellington and his army defeated Napoleon just outside Brussels.

It’s also a jolly good excuse to salute Beef Wellington, a classic dish that for many people epitomises the best in dining.

Over the years Beef Wellington has become a Gordon Ramsay Restaurants signature. In London, it’s a permanent feature of the menu at the glamorous Savoy Grill, where it’s served with red wine jus and horseradish cream. At Heddon Street Kitchen, just off Regent Street, couples love to share it with a seasonally-changing bowl of mash.

No wonder we feel duty-bound to lead the charge celebrating this sumptuous dish!

Each year we challenge our chefs to come up with their best rendition of Beef Wellington and match it with the perfect accompaniments.

Book now to enjoy an indulgent #BeefWellingtonDay feast at a Gordon Ramsay Restaurant near you. With many of our London restaurants, including maze Grill and Bread Street Kitchen, serving Beef Wellington all weekend, it makes an ideal Father’s Day outing too.

At The Narrow in Docklands, a riverside setting perfect for extended family dining, we’ll be serving Beef Wellington with spinach, baby carrots and fondant potato all weekend.

Or maybe you’d prefer York & Albany’s Cumbrian Beef Wellington served with dauphinoise purée and truffled savoy cabbage – an ideal treat for a Father’s Day weekend in Camden.

London House, Battersea’s favourite neighbourhood restaurant, bar and garden, is going a step further, serving Beef Wellington all week, from 13 to 19 June.

Maze, our modern European and Asian inspired restaurant in Mayfair, will be serving a Wagyu Beef Wellington Bun. Beautifully tender Wagyu fillet is wrapped in a layer of sweet and sour braised beef shin and encased in soy-and-sesame-glazed puff pastry, served with a bone marrow mash. Sold already? Union Street Café, our Italian Restaurant in Southwark will also be marking #BeefWellingtonDay with a special cocktail and an Italian take on this British classic, with a Piedmontese Fassone Beef Wellington wrapped in pizza dough, parma ham, porcini mushrooms and summer truffle, with fine beans & salsa verde. Intrigued? So are we! If you’re visiting Bankside or Tate Modern on June 18 or 19, pop in and try it. 

 

Enjoy a Michelin-star version at Pétrus, which will offer a special of Herefordshire Beef Wellington, chippilini onion, charred lettuce, bordelaise sauce, and an optional addition of luxurious Australian perigold truffles, available both June 18 and 19.

Beef Wellington masterclasses

Medium-rare beef fillet surrounded by sultry mushroom duxelles and finished in crisp pastry doesn’t just require first-rate ingredients, it demands skill and knowledge on the part of the cook too.

On #BeefWellingtonDay, June 18, maze Grill is launching an exciting new Beef Wellington masterclass, the perfect gift for home-chefs and baking aficionados. Join us for the first session at maze Grill Mayfair, with further classes to be confirmed at maze Grill Park Walk and maze Grill Royal Hospital Road shortly.

 

Michelin-starred Pétrus is running a 3-hour Beef Wellington masterclass with 3-course lunch and wine on 3 July and 7 August. With just 8 spaces per class, make sure you snap up your place quickly! 

Gordon’s simple recipe is great to try at home, but at a masterclass you will really learn how to cook Beef Wellington like a pro, getting hands-on practice and picking up lots of extra tips from our expert chefs to help you avoid pitfalls such as soggy bottoms.

#BeefWellingtonDay isn't just for the Brits - our international restaurants are showcasing the dish overseas with exciting takes on this Ramsay signature. 

 

Bread Street Kitchen Hong Kong is sharing the Beef Wellington love with a platter for 2 including a choice of side dishes.

 

The newly opened Le Bordeaux Gordon Ramsay brasserie will be adding a French twist to Beef Wellington - délicieux.

 

Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill Atlantic City are also offering a hearty Beef Wellington package, including two Beef Wellington Entrees and a bottle of Shannon Ridge red wine for $125, available for both lunch and dinner on 18 June.

 

Feeling lucky in Las Vegas? Head to Gordon Ramsay Steak, which will offer Beef Wellington with potato puree, glazed carrots and celery root, red wine demi, and black lava salt, available for dinner service only.
