There’s nothing like a spring walk to remind you why London is such a great city to explore on a sunny day. As the weather warms up and the parks start to bloom, it’s the perfect time to swap the tube for a stroll and take in the best of the season.

This walk leads you from the elegance of Knightsbridge to the lively streets of Piccadilly, with a few leafy moments in between. Add in a couple of restaurant stops along the way and you’ve got the makings of a spring afternoon well spent.

Before you begin your weekday wander, sit down for an unforgettable lunch at Pétrus in Knightsbridge. Tucked away on a quiet street, the Michelin-starred restaurant is an oasis of calm that makes it a lovely way to start your day.

The four-course lunch menu reflects the best of spring’s produce and currently features Cured Salmon, Lobster Raviolo, and a Black Forest dessert. For something extra special, pair your meal with a wine from Pétrus’s renowned cellar.

After an exquisite lunch, it’s time to enjoy the sunshine. A short stroll away lies Green Park, a little oasis of calm in the hectic heart of the city. Perfect for sunbathing, listening to birdsong, or admiring how the sunlight flickers through the leaves, it’s easy to see how its charm makes it a popular spot to bask in the warm weather.

Continue on your park walk past Buckingham Palace and over to St James’s Park, another outdoor haven in the heart of the city. Don’t miss the classic London views from the lake, and keep an eye out for the famous pelicans who call the park home.

After all this walking, it’s time to make your way to Piccadilly and quench your thirst at Heddon Street Kitchen. Tucked just off Regent Street, the restaurant’s outdoor terrace is a stunning spot to put your feet up with a drink in hand.

With signature cocktails including a Watermelon Gin Fizz, the BSK Espresso Martini, and Sweet Caroline, there’s something for every taste to cheers to your spring day out. Pair your drink with a few small plates, like Tamarind Spiced Chicken Wings or the Truffle and Parmesan Fries, for a relaxed, early-evening snack.

It’s the perfect way to wind down after an afternoon of great food, green spaces, and spring sunshine in the city.
