Some nights ask for nothing but the best – and the last of the year is one of them.
At The River Restaurant, our New Year’s Eve menu begins with Oscietra caviar and truffled Comté gougères, followed by plump oysters dressed with smoked cucumber and clementine. Choose between Smokin’ Brothers smoked salmon with a sharp beetroot purée, or a beef tartare with oyster emulsion – then a salmon Wellington, wrapped around velvety lobster and scallop mousse, or a seared fillet of venison with a rich, braised haunch and pickled blackberries. A grape compote in Champagne cream clears the way for dessert: a chocolate délice with poached cherry, or a bold, well-aged cheese selection.
As midnight nears, look out across the Thames for a glimpse of the fireworks lighting up the London sky.
